Anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers
TECNOACUSTICA ALSO WORKS WITH UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH CENTRES
We design anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers (ISO 3745) and reverberation chambers (ISO 3744 – ISO 140 – ISO 354) for different types of structures that deal with the research, innovation and development of products and components.
The test chambers are used to certify and acoustically characterise products bearing the EC mark, which may include:
- digital readers and fans
- washing machines and earthmoving machines
- endothermic and electric motors
- mechanical components for vehicles
- extractor hoods for kitchens

The anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers (for tests in free field conditions) are studied and designed on the basis of the data provided by the client, such as frequency limits and maximum dimensions of the objects being tested.
Our technicians design the ceiling and floor of the room choosing the most suitable materials and the most effective shape, calculating the size necessary to achieve the objectives, always in compliance with European Regulations and project data.
The insulation ensures that the evaluation of any noise created by the object being tested is not disturbed by external noise, while the sound absorption creates the free field conditions, preventing the noise from being influenced by reflected sound.
In collaboration with the staff of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ferrara, we have designed one of the largest test chambers in Europe with a double configuration, anechoic and semi-anechoic, achieving results which exceed expectations.
