Reverberation chambers
TECNOACUSTICA ALSO WORKS WITH UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH CENTRES
We design anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers (ISO 3745) and reverberation chambers (ISO 3744 – ISO 140 – ISO 354) for different types of structures that deal with the research, innovation and development of products and components.
The test chambers are used to certify and acoustically characterise products bearing the EC mark, which may include:
- digital readers and fans
- washing machines and earthmoving machines
- endothermic and electric motors
- mechanical components for vehicles
- extractor hoods for kitchens
REVERBERATION CHAMBERS
Reverberation chambers (for tests in diffuse field conditions) are designed on the basis of the frequency limits required by the client and of the dimensions of the object being tested.
The walls and ceiling are made of materials that guarantee the highest possible sound reflection, while the geometry of the interior of the room is carefully evaluated by our technicians. The walls, on the other hand, in addition to being perfectly reflective, must necessarily be at an angle to provide the best diffuse field conditions.
The reverberation chambers can be used to measure the sound power of a source (ISO 3744), to determine the sound absorption of materials (ISO 354) and to determine the sound insulationof materials (ISO 140 – ISO 717), of course with the aid of an acoustically-protected receiving chamber.
